The Antlers - Hospice

/mu/'s been fapping over this album for about two weeks now, and with good reason. It's fucking beautiful. Granted, I'm sure it will become a new In An Aeroplane Over the Sea, but as it is now, this is one of the most emotional albums I've ever heard, and may be the best album this year. All you need to know is this: The lyrics tell the first hand account of a guy watching someone he loves die of bone cancer. Very moving, very beautiful, very, very highly recommended.

These Hands Could Separate The Sky - Save Yourself (2009)

1. She Turned To The Wind, And Then She Was Gone (1:35)
2. Break The Horizon (5:56)
3. Patient Is The Sea (8:46)
4. Save Yourself (15:29)

Australian Post-Rock that apparently is very similiar to Explosions In The Sky. Fuck, why haven't I gotten anything from them yet? And here I am listening to obscure Australian music. Standout track is definitely Break The Horizon. Gonna try to upload something from another obscure Australian band soon.

Animals As Leaders - Animals As Leaders (2009)

This album came literally out of no where for me. I came across it a while back on /mu/ and have since fallen absolutely in love with it. Some incredible, guitar based instrumental prog metal that sounds like an orgy between An Endless Sporadic, Meshuggah, Dream Theater, and Devin Townsend's solo work. Absolutely incredible, and undeniably one of the best albums of the year. Very highly recommended.

Braveyoung - Bloom (2009)

1. Upon The Boughs Which Shake Against The Cold (11:49)
2. The Days That Sat In Front Of Everything (16:38)

Some of the best Post-Metal I've heard this year. This is a taste of what is to come for Braveyoung's (formerly Giant) upcoming full length later this year.

If there are any problems with the links, please post a comment so that Eriatarka and I can fix it. I'm having a little trouble getting them to work on Internet Explorer (could just be my crappy Vista computer contributing to it), but they are working fine on Mozilla Firefox. To be honest, you should be using Mozilla anyway.

Akira Yamaoka - Silent Hill 2 OST

For everyone of us who plays games, we all know about the Silent Hill series. It's famed for it's tense atmosphere, skillful story telling, and all around awesomeness, but my favorite aspect of the games have always been the music. Akira Yamaoka has made perfectly eerie and creepy music with the occasional emotional piece thrown in. When I think of a good OST, this is what I think of.

Been really loving instrumental hip hop lately and this is where it started. I'm not sure where I first came across this album, but I've been fucking loving it. Some really chill instrumental hip hop. A must download for those who love themselves some chill ass music.
